About Chef Naé
Chef Shanaé Johnson inherited her love for and talent for cooking from the resilient matriarchs in her family. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur and chef, Shanaé would host weekly dinner parties for family and close friends. It wasn't until her children convinced her to share recipes for her followers on social media. Within just a few weeks, Shanaé grew a substantial amount of followers after a video of her famous baked macaroni and cheese went viral on TikTok. Soon after, Shanaé was invited to Access Hollywood to share it again on air.
With a Bachelor's degree from Delaware State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Eastern University, Shanaé initially chose a career path of one in Higher Education. However, with the support and motivation from her husband and three children, she decided to pursue being a full-time private chef and left her job of 10 years.
Today, Shanaé specializes in creating upscale culinary experiences for private parties and small scale events. While Shanaé has prepared meals for a number of VIP and celebrity clients, one of her most important goals is to support the next generation of entrepreneurs by sharing her talent and expertise through volunteering, workshops, and other non-profit appearances.
Shanaé credits her family as well as other Philadelphia chef influencers for the guidance they provided in aiding her to become the success that she is today. A poem recited to Shanaé by her grandmother shares the values that she embodies everyday to keep her motivated and successful:
"Be noble. Whoever you are, be noble. Whatever you do, do well. Whenever you speak, speak kindly. Give joy wherever you dwell."
